LSA Dam Repairs Are Complete!
THANKS TO YOU AND THE TOWN OF HARRISVILLE
Making our dam safe and sound has been a long journey and we are grateful to everyone for their patience and generosity. NH Dams, owned and operated by Bob Carter, began repairs at the beginning of September. The pedestal, which holds the mechanism to open and close the dam, needed to be rebuilt, which required drilling holes and setting anchor rods before pouring final concrete for the cap and sides. The concrete on the upstream side was treated with sealant. A new handrail was installed and the deck was treated with a marine wood preservative. Noel Greiner added the color!
Once again, thank you to members and friends who've helped make the LSA dam repairs possible through multiple donations, to our neighbors in Harrisville for voting to contribute substantially at last year's Town Meeting, to Noel Greiner for project oversight, and to Jeff Grosner for his assistance, and to Bob Carter of NH Dams for his expertise and diligence.
